The community of Tremessee

A bumpy one hour drive about 10 miles southwest of Cap Haitien, in the lush foothills of north central Haiti, is the village of Tremessee, It is estimated that 4,000-5,000 people live in this area, where there are no paved roads, no electricity, no running water, no typical “stores,” no business or industry, and until Hands for Haiti arrived, no real school. For anyone who has never visited a place like Haiti, it is almost impossible to comprehend how difficult life there can be.
